| Medcenter One is now Sanford Health |
| BISMARCK, N.D.—Effective Aug. 29, Medcenter One proudly embraces its new name, its new family and its exciting future as Sanford Health. United together, Sanford Health and Medcenter One celebrated their union with a sign unveiling and employee picnic. In addition to the installation of new signs, Sanford’s signature blue lights now line the top of its main campus building in downtown Bismarck. The lights illuminate the skyline on all Sanford Health’s campuses.
“It’s a great honor to part of the Sanford family. The name is known across the nation, and it’s becoming known around the world as a leader in health care,” said Dr. Craig Lambrecht, president of Sanford Bismarck. “While the name brings great awareness, it also brings great responsibility for quality and service. We are excited to take on that challenge and to live up to those expectations.” “Sanford’s commitment to communities is well-known, both within its halls and beyond in the larger community,” said Pat Durick, chair of the former Medcenter One Board of Directors and member of the Sanford Health Board of Trustees. “I’m proud to welcome the Sanford Health name to our communities.” The next step in the integration process is to connect employees across the Sanford network in order for them to collaborate and learn from one another with the goal of creating efficiencies and, most importantly, working to improve methods to provide the best care possible. “I’m incredibly proud to welcome the newest members of our Sanford family,” said Becky Nelson, Sanford Health chief operating officer. “We are excited to be here to celebrate today, but we are also mindful of the oil boom’s impact on this region and the tremendous opportunity and responsibility that comes with that. We take that very seriously.” On July 2 Medcenter One and Sanford Health officially merged. Sanford Health now has more than 1,200 physicians and 25,000 employees in seven states. |
