| Medcenter One Bismarck Clinic Downtown earns immunization leader award |
| BISMARCK, N.D.—Medcenter One Bismarck Clinic Downtown was recently recognized by the North Dakota Department of Health as an immunization leader for outstanding immunization rates in 2011. Family medicine providers Dr. David Field and Carrie Gerving, nurse practitioner, and LoAnn Getz, L.P.N., Stacey Will, R.N., Kris Farrington, R.N., and Emily Schonberger, C.M.A., are at the Medcenter One Bismarck Clinic Downtown, and earned the award for the clinic.
The award is issued to clinics in the state that reach an immunization rate of 85 percent or higher for children by the age of 24 months. Medcenter One Bismarck Clinic Downtown reached an immunization rate of 89 percent and was one of only seven clinics in the state to receive the award. The immunizations that are tracked by the Department of Health for this age group for the award are diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), hepatitis B, measles, mumps, rubella, polio, varicella (chickenpox) and pneumococcal. The immunizations are important to create immunity to those diseases. |
