Sanford Health AirMed Membership now available
(Bismarck, N.D.)—Sanford AirMed Membership, a program that was previously only available from the Sioux Falls base, is now available in Bemidji, Bismarck and Fargo. Air transport and patient care charges can exceed $10,000. Sanford AirMed membership helps by covering out-of-pocket expenses that occur when necessary air-medical transport is needed.
The cost of the membership program varies from $59 for 12 months up to $1,000 for a lifetime membership. The program will directly bill the patient's insurance company and will cover any amount they do not pay, providing financial peace of mind when critical care is needed. If the patient doesn't have insurance, this program will cover the entire cost of the medically necessary flight.
Sanford AirMed provides medical transport to critically ill or injured patients. In its more than 35 years of operation, it has transported more than 60,000 patients. Sanford AirMed consists of fixed wing, rotor wing and specialty teams and operates a fleet of four helicopters and four airplanes from bases in Bismarck, Fargo, Sioux Falls and Bemidji. Each flight is staffed with experienced critical care specialists. Patients are transported to the medically appropriate facility of their choice.
