Meddy Bear

Meddy Bear is Sanford Health's very special friend. Meddy Bear is always more than happy to visit with children and is at Sanford Health for a couple of important reasons.

As a patient, your child will receive a 12-inch stuffed replica of Meddy Bear. When your child is prescribed a special procedure, Sanford Health doctors and nurses use Meddy Bear to teach and show your child what will be done. This allows your child visualization of the process and familiarizes him or her with equipment used in the procedure. That way, Meddy Bear and your child are going through the process together.

If your child is scheduled for surgery, Meddy Bear goes to surgery, too. Afterwards, Meddy Bear's bandages match your child's bandages. In fact, your child may even be surprised by the real Meddy Bear himself.
