The Bismarck region of Sanford Health again received Magnet® recognition as part of the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program, positioning the institution in the top 1 percent of facilities nationwide for nursing excellence. This credential is the highest honor an institution can receive for professional nursing practice. The Bismarck region of Sanford Health is the only Magnet-designated health system in North Dakota.
The Magnet Recognition Program recognizes health care organizations around the world that provide nursing excellence. That means you can count on Sanford Health’s medical center and clinics to provide world-class care to you and your loved ones. As an integrated health care organization, this designation was achieved not only by Sanford Health’s Medical Center, but also by its clinics in Bismarck, Mandan Dickinson and Minot and its home health and hospice agency.
The term Magnet means just what you think it does: Magnet organizations’ high quality of care attracts patients and employees alike. Independent studies of Magnet hospitals have shown that patients who receive care in such centers average a shorter length of stay and have higher rates of satisfaction.
The ANCC is the nation's largest and foremost accrediting and credentialing organization for the nursing profession.
