Outreach resource center

Sanford Health Laboratory strives to meet the testing needs of its clients through the use of innovative technology that ensures quality results. We offer an extensive test menu. We perform about 90 percent of ordered tests in the laboratory. Tests that are not performed in-house, such as specialty tests, are sent to Mayo Medical Laboratories in Rochester, Minn. The laboratory offers the following testing areas:
  • Anatomic pathology
  • Clinical chemistry with automation
  • Coagulation
  • Hematology
  • Histocompatibility
  • Immunoassay
  • Microbiology
  • Molecular diagnostics
  • Transfusion services
  • Urinalysis

Sanford Health Laboratory clients can modify our services to meet their needs. Services include but are not limited to the following:

Consultations

  • Quality control review
  • Policy and procedure reviews
  • In-service education
  • Instrumentation review
  • New test validations
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Regulatory inspection preparation

Pathology

The laboratory has pathologists on-site that can provide a number of services such as:
  • Directorship
  • Consultation
  • Hematopathology
  • Surgical pathology
  • On-site pathology visits
  • Cytopathology

Courier Services

Specimens are transported to our laboratory via U.S. Postal Service and contracted couriers. Specimens are sent on a Monday through Saturday basis.

Supplies

Supplies for collection, preparation and transport are provided for our clients. Supplies can be ordered with a manual requisition and the inventory specialist will gather and ship the requested supplies. Click here for a copy of the manual supply requisition.
