You and your doctor—a healthy partnership

The first step toward heart health is becoming aware of your own risk for heart disease and learning what you can do about those risks. While some risk factors like smoking are obvious, others—like high blood pressure or high cholesterol—are not. That's why a partnership with a primary care provider is so important. By making annual visits to your docotr, the two of you can discuss your risk factors and work to minimize or eliminate them.

We invite you to make an appointment with any of our primary care doctors. As partners in Sanford Health's HeartAdvantage program, these doctors know the latest research and treatment information regarding women's heart disease and have made preventing, diagnosing and treating women's heart disease the high priority that it needs to be.

Bring the Ten questions to ask your doctor to your appointment and use it. The information you receive in return will be an investment in your heart health.
