In North Dakota, tobacco use is the No. 1 cause of preventable disease and death. Whether you've already quit or are ready to quit, you've come to the right place. Certified tobacco treatment specialists at Sanford Health can provide the support and encouragement you need to live tobacco free with:
Tobacco Education program
The tobacco education program at Sanford Health is available by enrollment 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. Monday through Friday within Sanford Medical Center, 300 N. Seventh St., Bismarck. It is for all tobacco users. The number of sessions provided is up to you. Insurance will often cover part or all of the cost, but it's a good idea to check with your insurance company prior to enrolling.
For additional questions or for more information about the education sessions, please call (701) 323-2935 or (855) 862-6198. Live tobacco free today.
Baby & Me Tobacco Free program
The Baby & Me - Tobacco Free™ (BMTF) Program is geared toward the needs of the pregnant woman in North Dakota. The trained facilitators learn how to talk to their clients about the stages of change, how to set a quit date, how to ask for a tobacco-free home and car, and how to be prepared for life without cigarettes or other tobacco products.
BMTF participants attend four prenatal counseling sessions and stay with the program for up to a one year postpartum. A unique part of the program is the eligibility to receive vouchers for free diapers if they test tobacco-free. Moms may receive up to 14 diaper vouchers, valued at $30 each.
